It all began in 2015, with a simple morning practice of appreciation.
Over the past four years, this has developed into my “Healthy, Happy Habits,” which is my name for the routines and habits and tools that I use to keep myself feeling good.
They are things to help me find, create, discover, and maintain a flowing balance in my life. To help remind me of what I’ve learned, what I want, what I love, and where I’m going. To help me remember to simply Be, but also to get motivated to Do, too. These habits help with reducing and releasing stress and anxiety from my life. They help me keep perspective, to be present, to laugh, to play, to work, to love, to live.
So what are they? And how did they come about?
Overtime, I will introduce each one that I cherish and use in my own life. In the meantime, I pose this question to you:
When do you feel happiest, naturally energized, and most alive?
Take note of those times. Look at what you’ve done, what you’ve eaten, who you’ve been around, where you’ve been. Start being the silent observer, without judgement, of your own life. See if you can notice tendencies, patterns, both “good” and “bad.” See if you can notice when there is something that energizes you, and lights up your soul. Jot them down, repeat them. Start to see actions and habits as tangible tools, rather than abstract ideas.
Keep it simple. Think about what you truly do each day, what keeps you on track, what Habits you’re so grateful you now do.
Stay Healthy, Stay Happy.
