Today, I was looking for Layups.

Before I sit down at my desk, I always take a moment for me.

I sip my tea, slow and easy. I breathe deep, all the way into my belly. I flow through my Color Wheel in my mind’s eye – do I have any flags, alerts, that need tending?

For when I power up my PC and iMac, I need to be ready to give my full and undivided attention to what I am doing – to the task at hand.

While multitasking is a highly beneficial skill, it can be also very detrimental. A text from a loved one could send my mind into overdrive. An email from a colleague could take my imagination into some other project that’s in progress. Whether “good” or “bad,” these messages from outside can impact my ability to stay in the zone, in my creative flow.

So today, when I opened up Think or Swim and TastyWorks, I was fully present, grounded in this very moment.

And, I knew what I was looking for. I had a clear plan, and a clear amount of time to make it happen.

That’s been the trick, the challenge, the quest – to show up consistently and do my best, yes – but also to stick to my time limit so I have time for all the rest.

After tending to my current Positions, it was time to go fishing for Layups.

With the help of my team, I found one that felt good to me. Plus, now I get to be one of many who are betting on TSLA to go up and up and hit new highs. A feat it seems quite capable of.

Plus, after driving a Tesla the other day, I might as well take a chance, put my name in the hat and play.

Then, it’s the waiting game. Up and down, they bounce around, yet I must sit still. Just like Ozy when we’re bird watching. For it is just as imperative to Sit Tight and See Right as it is to act without hesitation or reservation when the market makes opportunities for me to take.

Here’s to my Butterfly Nets catching a solid 25%

Love as always,

Do you see what I see? There is a young hawk with it’s catch, trying to figure out how to take off with it’s food in it’s grasp. It’s moments like this, that have helped me learn to trade – to feel joy and stillness, excitement grounded in clarity. Photo by Carly Bakewell, captured at Mt. Tabor Park.
