How might I,
change the first thoughts
that I wake up with
in my head?
When “UGH” or “oh no” or
“I just don’t wanna…”
were the first feelings that arise
as the day dawns
all shiny and bright,
It was time to reset, to refresh,
to restart the way
my own mind sees the beginning
of the day.
I started with a smile.
A Thank you to the world.
A little song that made me happy,
an extra long snuggle cuddle
a snooze that I enjoyed
a quick hop out of bed,
I tried all the things,
to get the default thoughts
changed in my head.
Now, a practice, so vibrant and bright,
it is a fueling fire that
helps me shine my radiant light.
A little that I love,
a little that I know is good,
a little bit of fun,
a little bit of effort,
and now my body knows
That every day, started in anyway
is truly and delightfully
a great day
to be me,
sippin’ on life,
joyful, relaxed, and happy,
