Sometimes I’m hit with unexplainable anxiety. Other times, I’m awash with Joy. Which will it be? How will I know?
That, right there, is why I’ve committed to creating habits that support, promote, enhance, and boost my health and happiness.
Coloring, is just one, but it is a pivotal tool.
I use it as a “gateway for good.” By carving out a space for coloring, setting up my tangible supplies, creating tangible pieces of colored art, and having something I’m actively doing helps create a space in my mind, in my time, and in my physical space.
The trick, I’ve found, is not letting coloring become the end all be all. In fact, not letting any one habit become the end all be all.
Because if it becomes about just one, then you become dependent on that habit. You may think, “This habit, this is why I feel good today, so if I don’t do it, I won’t feel good.” Or some such internal story.
When in fact, the feel good vibes all comes from within. We know this. We just need to practice ways to tap into it, and activate it.
That’s where the ColorTime™ comes into play. The goal is to use coloring to increase our happiness, and to use it as a tool to replace old habits we’ve outgrown, with new ones that will support a better, happier, healthier you.
Here’s the question to ponder, explore through writing, bring to life with art, discuss with your circles:
What does “happiness” mean to you?
What does “healthiness” mean to you?
When you feel happy, what does it look like, how does it feel, and – why, deep down, are you happy? What is the spark? Was it allowing fears to flow on their way. Was it allowing your mind to be here in the now. Maybe it was the shared laughter, the way your heart feels radiant and warm. Maybe it is moving without pain, sitting still with serenity, sharing without shame, and playing with abandon.
Explore it. Capture it. Bring it to life.
If you want true Happiness, the most important thing you can do – is define “Happy” and what it means to you.
